JORGE VISTEL INVITE ROMAN FILIU
DEUX CONCERTS : 19h30 & 21h30

A rising star of explosive and ultra-creative jazz, Jorge Vistel offers a bold vision of musical fusion. A virtuoso trumpeter and inspired composer, he brings Afro-Cuban heritage into dialogue with the most modern sounds of jazz. Having just arrived in Paris, he is already setting stages alight with his intense sound and electrifying energy.
Trained by Steve Coleman and Greg Osby, and a companion of giants such as Benny Golson, David Murray, Lewis Nash, and Roy Hargrove, Vistel embodies a generation of Cubans who are transforming the island's rhythmic traditions into a laboratory for sound experiments. At his side is Roman Filiu. A saxophonist who is both sharp and elegant, he grew up in Santiago de Cuba before shaking up the New York scene alongside Henry Threadgill, Dafnis Prieto, and Chucho Valdés. His fiery phrasing, somewhere between Caribbean groove and modern jazz, makes him a free spirit who defies categorization.
As a duo, Vistel and Filiu form a creative force: two contemporary Cuban voices, insatiable, free, and ready to electrify the audience.
Committed to supporting emerging artists, our Club offers a series of bimonthly residencies (one concert every two months) that allow them to propose a creative project and develop it in an environment conducive to creation.
